Senator Todd Young and FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr Discuss Coronavirus Telehealth ProgramsApril 08, 2020
U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) hosts a video press conference with Brendan Carr, Commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to discuss new telehealth funding and programs to support healthcare providers on the front lines of the coronavirus fight. The FCC voted to adopt a $200 million telehealth program authorized by the CARES Act. The FCC also adopted Commissioner Carr’s $100 million Connected Care Pilot Program. Both of these programs will help treat coronavirus patients through telehealth technologies, particularly in rural and low-income areas, and will help free up hospital space and resources for those with the greatest need.
