Senate Passes Bipartisan Resolution Recognizing National Park Week

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The United States Senate passed a bipartisan resolution introduced by Senators Todd Young (R-Ind.), Steve Daines (R-Mont.), Angus King (I-Maine), and other Senate colleagues to establish April 22-30, 2023, as National Park Week.

“Hoosiers are proud of the Indiana Dunes National Park, which serves as a great example of the vast landscapes, wildlife, and history that national parks offer throughout our country. This week, we celebrate the Indiana Dunes National Park and America’s great outdoors,” said Senator Young.

Young helped author legislation that established the Indiana Dunes National Park as the 61st national park in the United States and the first national park for the state of Indiana.

The resolution highlights the national parks of the United States and encourages visiting and experiencing these national treasures.
