Senator Young Statement on FASTLANE Grant Recommendation for Port of Indiana-Burns Harbor

Senator Todd Young released a statement following the announcement of the Port of Indiana-Burns Harbor securing a FASTLANE grant recommendation from the U.S. Department of Transportation:

“Infrastructure means jobs. Indiana is investing where it matters to attract business and help existing businesses grow and hire more. The Port of Indiana-Burns Harbor FASTLANE grant will help strengthen the Hoosier economy and, in the Senate, I will continue to support efforts to enhance infrastructure vital to our state and nation.”

The U.S. Department of Transportation recommended ten FASTLANE small project grants for 2017. The $9.85 million grant is part of a $19.7 million expansion of the port’s infrastructure. The expansion will increase cargo handling capacity for the Lake Michigan port.
