Young, Braun, Yakym Celebrate AM General Receiving Joint Light Tactical Vehicle Contract
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.), Senator Mike Braun (R-Ind.), and Congressman Rudy Yakym (IN-02) celebrated the announcement that AM General – headquartered in South Bend – received a contract worth up to $8.6 billion for Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) follow-on production.
The vehicles will be built at the company’s Mishawaka Manufacturing Campus in Indiana.
“For years, AM General has been a leading contributor to Indiana’s economy and to our national defense. Their Humvee is known around the world as dependable, safe, and capable. This contract is both a validation of Congress’s support for the Humvee and a proud achievement for our state and the team at AM General. Winning the JLTV contract positions AM General for decades to come, will pave the way for more high-paying jobs in Mishawaka and across the state, and solidifies Indiana’s position as a state that works for America’s national security,” said Senator Todd Young.
