Young Statement on President Trump’s Proposal to Secure the Border and Fully Reopen the Government

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) today issued the following statement regarding the President’s plan to secure the border and fully reopen the government:

“Today the President put forward a commonsense proposal to secure our border and fully reopen the government. As a Marine, I was stationed on the southern border in Yuma, Arizona, and I saw firsthand the need for greater border security. It’s time for Democrats to come to the table to address this humanitarian and security crisis. The sooner we can agree to secure our border, the sooner the entire government can reopen, and the principled compromise put forward by the President today is a reasonable solution.”
