Young Votes to Secure Border and Reopen Government

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) today issued the following statement after voting on a legislative package proposed by President Trump to secure the border and fully reopen the government:

“Today, I voted to secure our border and fully reopen the government. Unfortunately Democrats blocked this principled, commonsense legislation. Under the direction of Speaker Pelosi and Senator Schumer, my colleagues on the left refuse to move forward in a serious way for the good of the country. The President has come to the negotiating table in good faith, and Democrats need to do the same and agree on a proposal that secures our border, fully reopens the government, and allows federal employees to get paid.”
